“He showed the words “chocolate cake” to a group of Americans and recorded their word associations. “Guilt” was the top response. If that strikes you as unexceptional, consider the response of French eaters to the same prompt: “celebration.”” — Michael Pollan (via misswallflower)

Closet Cooking: Mushroom Grilled Cheese Sandwich (aka The Mushroom Melt)

This looks so good I can almost smell the mushrooms cooking…. can’t YOU?

It might be a little early for a cocktail, but at least this way you can get your ingredients ready for home time.

I should be packing and tying up loose ends for work, but: (1) work issues can be easily solved and don’t take much effort or brainwork on my part (translation: boring) and (2) packing is boring. Procrastinating until the last possible moment to pack then freaking out is NOT boring.

ALSO I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT TO HAVE FOR LUNCH TOMORROW — oh god the caps are offensive but I don’t care — BACON, PEAR AND RASPBERRY GRILLED CHEESE.

I’m sorry, I’m not really coherent right now just give me bacon and cheese everything.
